Fully laden, gross vehicle weights can often reach or exceed 3.5 tonnes, which puts a great deal of strain on the factory handbrake. This can be highly inconvenient and often even dangerous, causing the user to lose control of their vehicle on steep slopes.
The Terrain Tamer Electric Park Brake kit brings modern E-Brake functionality to your 70 Series. This clever kit includes a dash-mounted switch, an electronic control module, a pair of high quality callipers and all required fitting hardware and wiring. When used in conjunction with the factory handbrake, this secondary braking system gives a significant increase in parking brake performance, both on and off road. In Australia, this system is already being widely adopted by mining and other commercial operators, along with overland and adventure users.
The Electric Park Brake automatically engages when the ignition is turned off to help prevent the vehicle rolling away and utilises the vehicle handbrake warning light int he instrument cluster to show when it is engaged. The system can be easily engaged and disengaged via a simple cab-mounted switch.
